What We Believe

What We Believe As servants of God, our focus is to bring honor and glory to the Lord Jesus Christ by faithfully serving Him. Our faith is centered on the Bible, the living Word of God.

Scripture
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God given to us in two parts: the Old Testament and New Testament. We believe God's Word is the supreme and final authority for faith and practice. We believe the original Hebrew and Greek Scriptures were inspired by God. We recognize the King James Version as the most accurate translation of the inspired Word. (Exodus 4:10-15, Matthew 5:18, II Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:13, I Peter 1:20-21.)

Trinity
We believe in one triune God that eternally exists in three persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 15:26; II Corinthians 13:14.)

God
We believe that God is the first Person of the Godhead. He is worthy of honor, adoration, and obedience. He is the Supreme Creator, giver and taker of life, and author of redemption. He is omniscient (all knowing), omnipresent (all present), and omnipotent (all powerful). (Psalm 19:1, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, Romans 1:20.)

Jesus
We believe that Jesus Christ is God in the full and absolute sense of the word, that He is the second Person in the Godhead. He was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, shed His blood on the cross, and bodily rose from the dead after three days. He is now in Heaven sitting at the right hand of God, where as our High Priest, He is making intercessions for believers. (Isaiah 7:14, Luke 1:35, John 10:31, 36-38, Acts 1:9, 10, Romans 5:8, Romans 8:34.)

Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead. He is the Spirit of God who inspired the writings of God's Word. The Spirit indwells the believer at salvation, convicts him of sins, guides him into truth, and provides assurance and comfort. (Matthew 28:19, John 14:17, Romans 8:9, 16, I Corinthians 2:12-14, Ephesians 1:13-14.)

Creation
We believe the universe and every living thing was created by God, apart from any evolutionary process. We believe that the work of creation took place in six days as recorded in Scripture. (Genesis 1:1-2:3, Exodus 20:8-11, Psalm 104:25, John 1:3, Acts 15:18, Hebrews 11:3.)

The Personality of Satan
We believe Satan was originally a very beautiful angel, Lucifer, who occupied a place of special prominence as the anointed cherub that covered God's throne. Satan's pride led him into rebellion against God. He was cast out of heaven, along with his followers. Satan is the author of sin, the tempter in the fall of man and the enemy of God and man. He shall be eternally punished in the lake of fire. (Job 1:6-7, Isaiah 14:12-17, Matthew 4:2-11, Matthew 25:4, Revelation 20:10.)

Salvation
We believe that a person is saved through faith alone. A new believer is accounted righteous before God by accepting the forgiveness of sin made available to all through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe every believer should rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the truth of God's Word. (Romans 3:20-24, Romans 13:13-14, Galatians 2:16, Galatians 5:13, Titus 2:11-5, I Peter 2:13-20, Ephesians 2:1-3, 12.)

Depravity of Man
We believe that God created both male and female, in His image and likeness. Man was originally free of sin, created to glorify God. We believe man was given a free will by God his creator to choose between good and evil. Man chose evil. As a result depravity and sinfulness fell upon the whole human race, making man incapable of achieving his own salvation.

Eternity
We believe in a literal heaven and hell. Heaven was designed for those who trust Jesus Christ as their personal Savior to have everlasting life and fellowship with God. Hell was prepared for Satan, his fallen angels, and those who reject Christ to live in this place of torment and damnation for all eternity. (Matthew 25:41-46, Mark 9:43-48, John 5:28-29, II Peter 2:4, Jude 6, 7, Revelation 20:10.)

Return of Christ
We believe in Christ's pre-tribulation bodily return to rapture His bride, the church. We believe that at the end of the seven year tribulation, He will return to earth with the saints in power and glory to reign for a thousand years. (Zechariah 14:4-11, I Thessalonians 4:16-17, Titus 2:13, Revelation 3:10, 19:15, 20:1-6.)

Mission
We believe that every man, woman, and child can experience true salvation in Jesus Christ if they receive Him as their Savior. Christ calls every believer to verbally share the Gospel with the unsaved. We strongly believe in reaching the lost for Christ through personal evangelism and world missions. (Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15, Acts 1:8, II Corinthians 5:19-20.)

Church
We believe and support the Scripture's teachings regarding the local New Testament church. The church is a spiritual organism made up of born-again believers. The mission of the church is to glorify God, to edify and equip believers, and to evangelize the world. Our church is a self ruling body, that operates through a democratic process. Each member is equally responsible under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our church has two ordained offices - the pastor and deacons. (Acts 14:27, Hebrews 10:25, I Timothy 3:1-13, Titus 1:5-11.)

Baptism
We believe that baptism is the immersion of a believer in water. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in the crucifixion, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Savior. We do not believe that water baptism completes the salvation experience, but recognizes it as a symbol by which man acknowledges to the world his acceptance of a new life in Christ. (Mark 16:15, Acts 2:41, Acts 10:47-48, Romans 6:2-4.)

Lord's Supper
We believe that only repentant believers should partake of the Lord's Supper as a remembrance of Christ's death and as an assurance of His return. The bread symbolizes Christ's body that was broken for us, and the cup symbolizes the blood of Christ that was shed for us. We practice open communion. (Luke 22:17-19, I Corinthians 10:20-21, I Corinthians 11:24, 26.)

God's Simple Plan of Salvation
Although we believe that going to church is very important, we believe going to Heaven is eternally important. Jesus told a highly educated Pharisee that "except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God:" (John 3:3). When you were born the first time, you were born a sinner. "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) God cannot let your sin into His Holy Heaven. "And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth." (Romans 22:17a) If you die in your sin, you will be eternally separated from God in a place called Hell. "For the wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23a) But God provided a way of escape through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. "But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23b) God desires for you to be born again through His Son. Are you willing to accept Him today? "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)

If you would like to receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, pray a prayer similar to this: (Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I realize my punishment for sin is death and Hell. Please forgive me of my sins and save me. I believe that your shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection were for me. I now receive you as my Savior. I thank you for the forgiveness of my sins, the gift of salvation and everlasting life, with you. A-men!)

If you just prayed that prayer or have any questions regarding your salvation, please contact us and share them with us.
