History
North Hills Baptist Church began as a church extension project of the Kanawha Baptist Association and the West Virginia Baptist Association in the early 70's.
On September 15, 1971, Rev. Lloyd Daubenspeck was called to become the mission pastor on a part time basis. He alone with others from the community began a visitation campaign sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The first public service of worship was held in the Sissonville Community Center on December 7, 1971.
In 1973, Rev. Warren O. Shields came to be the full-time pastor of the church. The church was organized that year with 28 charter members and was received into the Kanawha Valley Baptist Churches of the West Virginia Baptist Convention.
By 1977, services were being held at the present Leonard Heights property. With God's blessing, the Bill Schneider Educational Building was completed in 2007 to provide additional Sunday and Wednesday classrooms.
Under the current leadership of Pastor Michael Harper, the church strives to share the salvation message of Jesus Christ and to promote spiritual growth in fellow believers.
